Don't know server connect details

Asked by Dougal

I want to use a drive that I have with music and videos through my router to play on TV or access by any of my computers.

I am trying to connect a drive through the USB port on my router. I have followed the advice on the Ubuntu site for setting up a samba server and associated folder, permissions, etc. I am now at the stage of trying to 'Connect to Server' through Caja file manager.
I have not done anything like this before and the advice on the page does not give examples of input for example 'Server:' and 'Folder:'.
Now I think I know the folder name as /home/username/sambashare/ (repacling username with the name of the user).
What name do I give the 'Server:'.

I have scoured the Internet for examples of a completed 'Connect to Server' details box but, can find nothing helpful.
Also, what 'Type' should I use.

I will ultimately use an Ethernet connection through a hub connecting more drives.

It is great to have advice but not great to only have some of it.

I used to be an admin for one of the distros and always tried to remember to show examples of eberything.
I believe the Help documentation is severly lacking here.

Thanks in anticipation.
