When I log off my computer and use suspend the next time I log in I loose the mouse pointer.

When I log off my computer and use suspend the next time I log on I loose the mouse pointer. I have to turn off my computer shut off power then I turn the power back on and then turn my computer on and I regain the mouse pointer. This problem began after I downloaded a bunch of updates.
