It does not open after 5.8.0.28 generic kernel update.

Asked by Yasin Onur Aydın on 2020-11-11

Hi,
Ubuntu
linux-image-5.8.0-28-generic
linux-modules-5.8.0-28-generic
linux-modules-nvidia-455-5.8.0-28-generic
After the linux-modules-nvidia-455-generic-hwe-20.04-edge updates, I am stuck in the manufacturer's logo screen and cannot turn on the computer from the current kernel.
I can continue to use the computer with the previous kernel (5.8.0.26) from the grub screen.
Can you tell me how to uninstall and reinstall the package in new updates and what should I do?
Note: I am a new ubuntu user.

I suggest you report a bug with the newer kernel

I would appreciate if you could provide information on how to report errors about the new kernel and what commands to use.

In a terminal, run:

ubuntu-bug linux-image-5.8.0-28-generic

And the process will start

Hi, I ran the command line and reported the errors that occurred to the ubuntu team.
The error report file link is private and not viewed by anyone.
Can you give information about how I can remove the new versions downloaded from the system now?
I have to start from 5.8.0.26 from grub menu every time it starts up, and this is very annoying.
