new graphic card

Asked by le red

I have Ubuntu 20.04. I need to change my graphic card. I have an old Radeon in it and i want to put a new Radeon.
I know that drivers from Radeon are put into the core of Linux.
I will be changing model of card.
My question : Do i have to do something special or just taking out the old card, and put in the new one and just start it up ?
Thanks.

The driver is compiled against the driver so should just work. If not then swap back, uninstall the driver, install the new card then reinstall the driver. Remember to power off the sys to swap hardware over
