problems with hd

I am using a hard drive formated by MS-DOS (FAT32). Using this hd with different OS (OSX, Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.10). Formerly it worked nearly without problems, only Windows 10 always asked for a scan. Now the hd only works with OSX, no more with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.10. Before I repaired the hd with a program for Windows 10 which erased one folder completely. What's going wrong?

Support for Ubuntu 18.10 has ended more than a year ago (July 2019).
