How did you install gnucash?

Thanks

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy gnucash

Thanks

I recently updated Ubuntu to 20.04 from 18.04...this is when the GnuCash icon disappeared. The text 'GnuCash' does appear in the list of apps and it does function normally. Just no icon.

Below is the output from "lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy gnucash":

neovida@neovida-HP-ENVY-dv7-Notebook-PC:~$ lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy gnucash
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Release: 20.04
Codename: focal

OK then run:

sudo apt-get --reinstall install gnucash

Should do it

No. You are only reinstalling the application. Do you lose your Word documents if you reinstall Microsoft Office?

Same thing
