i reinstalled 8.10 and now i have problems

ok so i had to reinstall ubuntu 8.10 now im having problems, 1)when i right click it does nothing unless i have a windows open and it says close, minimize,ect,2) i have already configured so it runs on right hand not left,This only happens when i install the updates not before the updates,this is the 2nd time i reinstalled it because of this problem. can anybody help?

Just to clarify, is everything fine before you do your updates? When you say "have already configured so it runs on right hand not left," do you mean that you have configured your mouse to be right-handed instead of left? If so, did you do this through System > Preferences > Mouse? Is it possible that you turned on one of the assistive technology features in that same tool? Finally, have you considered trying the new 9.04 release?

i have already done 9.04 and i hate it, to much bugs,and i also figured everything out.
