The system does not recognize apt commands ..

 First operating system is Ubuntu 18.04 lts. The system does not recognize apt commands .. For example i paste here some terminal commands:
:~$ sudo apt install build-essential
sudo: apt: komentoa ei löytynyt(command not found)
~$ sudo apt-get update
sudo: apt-get: komentoa ei löytynyt( this goes on and on, all apt commands are lost??).

Not having "apt" available is strange indeed.

What shows:
dpkg -l apt
ls -al /etc/apt

-and a hunting we will go-

For diagnostic purposes please also provide the output that you receive for the commands

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
dpkg --version
dpkg -l | grep apt
