W-Fi Printing from xtraPC

I am have problems now and cannot connect with my printer using xtraPC, ok on Windows. Printer is Canon MP495. Does anybody know how to get round this problem.
If I connect by USB cable it does work.

Can you ping the printer's IP?
Did you configure your Ubuntu systems firewall at all (the default is to allow all)
What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a
