No internet connectivity when updated from 16.04 to 18.04

Asked by Sabbir Ahmed

I have upgraded the system from 16.04 to 18.04 and facing the problem of no internet connectivity. I have added the nameserver 8.8.8.8 into resolv.conf file and I can ping 8.8.8.8 but no browsing. For your kind information, I have connected my laptop with a LAN port for the internet access using the cable.
Could you please help me out with this issue? Thanks in advance

Can you ping your default gateway?
Do you use a proxy for Web access?

If you reboot your router does it help?

Actually, I can't reboot the router because it is from the university network. I just connected with a port.

Ah I see. Can they see your traffic going to the device?
