Disable notifications does nothing

Asked by erik070

There are options to disable notifications for build in applications, and for notifications of 3rd party applications.

None of these options work. Disabling a notification for a build in app does nothing, ie: notifications are all still shown. Disabling notifications for a 3rd party app does nothing, ie: all notifications are still shown.

This is either a bug, or the way this works in not intuitive (disabling does something else then disabling the notification, maybe a second step needs to be taken, no idea).

To make clear what I'm talking about:

Go to Settings > notifications > turn off notifications for a particular app and wait for something to happen in that app > voila notification is shown.

Do I need to enable/disbale something else to stop notifications of certain applications? Do not disturb is an option, but I do want notifications of certain applications, and make it persistent through reboots (DND, reset to off after reboot I understand).

Pop OS isn't supported here or by the Ubuntu community. Pop OS has its own support channels and community. I suggest you post on the Pop OS forum here:
https://pop-planet.info/forums/

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here. There are distribution agnostic forums on the Web but this isn't one of them.
