Ubuntu 18.04 Xorg Screen flashing issues on Virtualbox running on MacOS Catalina

Hi

Please take note till this day, while running Ubuntu 18.04 on VirtualBox with MacOS Catalina having xorg screen flashing issues. When log in. Having issue to log in to password as the character keeps increasing.

This bug have not been fix till now.

Did you install the guest additions?
Is it the same with 20.04?

Hi Manfred Hampl,

Currently I am using Virtualbox 6.1.8 (Been using these since 6.1.0) with macos Catalina 10.15.5.
Only Ubuntu 18.04 are having these issues. Screen keep flashing.
Ubuntu version 16.04,19.04 and 20.04 have no issues what so ever.
I think the xorg is very buggy and not been fix.

Then use 20.04. It is LTS and supported until April 2025. 2 years after 18.04 is end of life (EOL)
