Libpopt.so.0 no version information available

When trying to make a dialup connection through terminal. By 'pppconfig' comes an error message ' libpopt.so.0 no version information available ' how can I clear this. Please help me.

Hi,

  I think it means that the version of the shared object on the system (libpopt.so.0' is lower than the version the program that needs it expects it to be

  you could try to reinstall the libpopt library to make sure you got the latest version

  In Jaunty I have the following version :

dpkg -l | grep libpopt
ii libpopt0 1.14-4 lib for parsing cmdline parameters
