PPA doesn't support Bionic and should be removed
Not all PPAs support all releases and they also don't have to. It's the prerogative of the PPA maintainer(s)

1.
Issue the command
sudo rm /etc/apt/
(That PPA does not offer software for Ubunu bionic and should be removed)
2.
Issue the command
sudo gedit /etc/apt/
scroll down to the end and remove the three lines containing "winehq", save the file and close the editor.
3.
Finally re-issue the command
sudo apt update
and cop/paste the output that we can verify whether there are additional things to do.

OK then run:
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt dist-upgrade
You will get your updates and your package system seems squared off and OK

I am a complete beginner to Linux based OS, so pretty much I have no idea of what I am doing... Used wine to install a '.msi' file, unfortunately due to some reason it doesn't run, maybe its programmed to install on 'C' drive and I am unable to change it. Only reason to move to Ubuntu is to get a feel of it and for the faster response.
Unlike windows this one is quite complicated, so use it for these barest of work needs which is solely based on browser, at-least the browser seems faster here.
I have partitioned the PC to have 3 drives. One for Win OS, one for common storage(Win and Ubuntu) formatted as NTFS another for Ubuntu.
I am unable to directly modify any files on the common storage "Create, cut or rename files", based on few tutorial steps I was able to identify that it is a read only drive. Someone suggested to unmount and then remount it with RW. Is it possible to do that to this common drive without damaging anything. Any working command lines are greatly appreciated.

Ubuntu isn't complicated. It's just different
As you use the OS you'll learn it just as you have learned Windows. No difference at all.

And yeah, that .msi created a desktop icon like what happens on Win, but for some reason the damn thing wont open. So i just deleted it from desktop as it is since, I wasn't able find it installed in the installed section of Ubuntu Software centre. Hope didnt break anything, kinda am fed up with re-installing Ubuntu so many time now after trying out different tutorials online
