Ubuntu doesnt boot

Asked by Bogdan

everything displayed on the screen is "starting user manager for uid 121" "started session c111 of user gdm" (it goes up to c111) "failed to start user manager for uid 121" and "see systemctl status @user121. service for details". this all started after i updated ubunu and installed the nvidia drivers. all i wanted to do is configure grub a little bit. if it helps here are my specs: ryzen 5 1400, gtx 1660 super, 12gb of ram, an nvme drive with windows 10, a 1tb drive with a ubuntu partition(~200gb), the rest being ntfs for my games.

i meant to say: long story short i booted into recovery mode, dropped into a root prompt, uninstalled nvidia drivers and xorg, rebooted agian into recovery and root prompt, installed nvidia drivers and lightdm and it worked.
