Asked by gordon cassidy

Executing: /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install enable i2p

update-rc.d: error: i2p Default-Start contains no runlevels, aborting.

root@:~# gedit /etc/init.d/i2p

Cannot start i2p.service at "Boot or Enable it". However can start the service after login.

Any help would be appreciated.

From which source did you install i2p? From the standard Ubuntu repositories or from somewhere else?

For diagnostic purposes please provide the output that you receive or the commands

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
apt-cache policy i2p
head /etc/init.d/i2p

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-configure-vnc-on-ubuntu-16-04

This will help with the service file. Before you say it. YES I know you aren't setting up VNC. Look at the layout of the service file to start VNC at boot. Make it do what you want instead.

The commands to enable the service file to run at boot are also documented there too. Very useful

Can you help with this problem?
