xubuntu-icon-theme missing sizes of some icons

Asked by Daryl Van Humbeck

As stated, the official XUbuntu default icon theme is actually missing at least one version of a particular icon. To be exact, the 16-pixel version of the 'category' icon for electronics.

Without this version of that icon, my application menu looks like this:

Note the larger size for the Electronics category in the menu. It's using the 22-pixel version because there is no 16-pixel version.

Copying and resizing the 22-pixel version for the 16-pixel size and rebuilding the GTK icon cache fixes the problem, but only for me.

Which (x)Ubuntu release are you running?

Your findings seem correct.
In the version for bionic (18.04.5), the file applications-electronics.png is available only in the 22, 24 and 48 directories, but not in 16, 32, 64, 96 and 128.

I suggest that you create a bug report against xubuntu-artwork.

Remark: In newer Ubuntu releases the Icons are provided by the package elementary-xfce-icon-theme, and there seems to be the same problem.

Can you help with this problem?
