Budgie package for Xenial

Asked by cerr

Hi,

I'm wondering if there are any plans to come up with a Budgie package for Ubuntu Xenial, too before it EOLs (April 2021)?

Manfred Hampl suggests this article as an answer to your question:
FAQ #3037: “no rolling release”.

Backporting a package to an older Ubuntu release that did not contain that package at publication time is done only in very rare cases.

Can you provide a justification why this should be done?
Why not just upgrade to a newer Ubuntu release that provides that package?

There are some PPAs, maybe https://launchpad.net/~budgie-remix/+archive/ubuntu/ppa helps.

Hi Manfred,

I'm staying with Xenial primairily for compatibility reasons with ROS Kinetic.

I sure will look into the PPA link you posted, it may provide me with what I'm looking for!

Thank you!

Re: "I'm staying with Xenial primairily for compatibility reasons with ROS Kinetic."

Why not upgrade to Ubuntu bionic and ROS Melodic?

Can you help with this problem?
