Partition not getting detected by Ubuntu installation wizard on Mac

I am trying to install Ubuntu on my Mac, and I have created a separate partition for it. I have rEFInd as my boot manager, and a USB flash drive with Ubuntu OS for installation. When I launch the Ubuntu setup wizard from my flash drive, I am stuck at the partition selection stage, as it does not detect any partition. I have tried multiple formats for my partition (FAT, exFAT, MacOS Extended, and APFS), but it did not help. Please advise.
