ok it't ubuntu excuse the mispelling, I am new

Asked by Richard A Spearnock

I still think there out to be a simple way to transfer data from working MS machines and hardware into my ubuntu/linux computer, especially until drivers are available for my old hardware. Some of us can not afford to buy particular hardware just to work with one operating system. I proposed that if there is a way to use my old hardware on my old windows machine and transfer it to ubuntu/linux this would solve my problem as well as many others who wish to convert but the drivers are simply not available. I would completely do away with windows if I could. This is not possible now.

If Iwant to use new hardware and old hardware on ubuntu 9.04 , I believe it should be relatively easy to use on Ubuntu and/or an old windows machine. The Dell computer controls both the Dell 962 all in one and the epson perfection v30 perfectly. I would like a way to transfer this info back and forth between the windows and ubuntu machine.  My son suggested using a memory stick. This lack of drivers is really a shame if you want Windows people to make the switch to Ubuntu.  I am not going out to buy so called supported hardware especially when I don't know to what degree the hardware is supported.  It is a shame that some manufactuers do not want to cooperate with your program, but that is just the way it is.  Please post or forward to anyone you think may be able to help.  Thank you very much.

If your hardware is not supported, please file a bug report with precise description of the bug, your hardware and anything that could be helpful!

And as you said: "that is just the way it is".

Can you help with this problem?
