linux update causing browser issues

Asked by tom

I updates yesterday to the latest kernels and did the usual sudo update apt etc, rebooted as requested, then opened my opera browser and noticed a few of my regular websites failed to load properly. Some failed to load their pictures, others failed to open as normal web pages? Tested in other web browser (chromium) no problem. I gues it may be an opera issue so have posted them this same note.

For diagnostic purposes please provide the output of the commands (to be executed in a terminal window)

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
dpkg -l | grep opera
apt-cache policy opera*

What do you mean by not loading properly? Did you see graphical artefacts etc?

If you make a fresh user and log in as that, is it the same web experience as your regular user?

As for second question, no artifacts just web pages will not show. I browse a well known housing estate website and since the update, pictures for that site don't load, and one other site will not load normally it just loads itself in text format. I have tried both on other browsers, no problem.

Mint is not supported by the Ubuntu community or Canonical in any way. The Mint support community is entirely separate from the Ubuntu community.

I suggest you post on the Mint forum here:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here.

Sorry
