Firefox browser internet protocol leaks?

Asked by anon

im using the mullvad vpn client on ubuntu 18.04.

just wanted to ask a question in relation to browser internet protocol leaks-im using the mullvad client on ubuntu with the firefox web browser-is it possible that plugins or scripts can leak my real ip address?-does this also apply to BitTorrent clients as well? since a BitTorrent client doesent have scripts or plugins i would imagine not-what do you think?

If you are using a VPN then all traffic will go down that unless you break out certain IP ranges using routing. I'm guessing you haven't done this so as long as Mullvad is reputable and OK then your real IP is secure

At the moment my version of firefox in ubuntu has no plugins except a plugin from Cisso systems which i cant remove but is disabled. Ive tried using the noscript firefox addon but that make the internet really unusable.

You said that the vpn should tunnel all my traffic using this specific connection-is there a way to test this to be sure my real ip is not leaking?

Does it show your WAN IP? If you disconnect the VPN then refresh the page then the IP should be your real IP. Connect the VPN and it is hidden again.

You're really paranoid. I'm surprised you use the Internet at all.

Can you help with this problem?
