Why all of a suddne am I getting the HP splash screen before the Ubuntu screen

Asked by Lynne Stevens

After years of not getting the HP splash screen from way back to Ubuntu 12 to now I was not there after removing Windows from the O/S and installing Ubuntu . . Is there a way to copy and paste the Install screen ? As the Guest Additions to Virtual Box did not make it ( not installed failed 3 times before quitting ) must not be where the programmers think it is at . . .I installed it from file down loaded from virtual box latest one and the Extension pack . .plus down loaded the Guest Additions ISO and burn to a small CD, installs much better

Do you really expect that any supporter is able to help based on your lament?

Please follow the rule "one question - one problem" and clearly describe
- what you do
- what you expect to happen
- what is happening instead

Just to clarify, is the issue that when you boot your system in Viurtualbox you don't get the usual boot splash and the login screenloads as normal.

Is this correct please?

Thanks

No I get the Escape to see boot options for 5 seconds then BIG "HP" in middle of screen ! THEN the Ubuntu splash screen UBUNTU WHITE DOTS TO RED DOTS . . And Virtual Box has nothing to do with the HP thing . . I at one time had all of Ubuntu DVD's going back to version 8 ( way back in time ) Still have 12 up sitting on a shelf . .

If you see a manufacturer's logo when booting, then this has nothing to do with Ubuntu, because the logic to show such image is inside the BIOS and is executed before Ubuntu starts.

Has there been a BIOS upgrade on your system recently?

I would not bother whether I see a HP logo or not, as long as the system works as desired.
