Problems installing Ubuntu

Hi, my problem is that I have a USB drive with Ubuntu installed on it but after I select it as my boot drive it give me a command screen telling me about the version I have and I think it wants me to code something. It ends with C:\>_
Do I need to type in coding?
Your help will be much appreciated

How did you put Ubuntu on the USB please? What steps did you take?
