Display LUKS unlock screen on external monitor if docked

Asked by Cornelius

Hello,
I own a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme G2 and the Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock.

When using Pop! OS the LUKS unlock screen (and the installer, too) is displayed on my external monitor which is connected to the dock. As Pop! OS is based on Ubuntu 19.10, this should be quite easy?

I then would not have to open the lid every time i start my laptop. That would be great.

Does anyone know how to get there?

Regards,

P.S. I know there are problems regarding the display outputs are wired to the discrete nVidia GPU. But it'w working on Pop, so I think it could be made working in Ubuntu, too.

PopOS isn't supported by Canonical or the Ubuntu community. It's support network is entirely separate from Ubuntus.

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here.

Your distribution is supported here:
https://system76.com/pop/community

I suggest you post there and the PopOS community can advise.

Thanks
