jaunty uses more cpu

Asked by Neil

I just update to jaunty the other day, it 's great, but for 1 problem it is using heaps of cpu power, with intrepid it ran at about 30-40% and if doing nothing at about 15-20% now just having the desktop it is running at 60%+ if I start an other program over 90% how can I slow it down? get it back to normal.
Thanks
Neil

Hi,

  could you look at which process is taking this cpu ?

  go to System->Administration->System Monitor
  go to the Processes tab and sort on "CPU %"

  alternatively youj can type top in a terminal

Do NOT use envyng, it is garbage. The nvidia-glx-180 drivers are what you need to get and card bought withing the last 2 years going.
