Asked by abhisheksreepal

Hi,

I have installed Ubuntu 8.10 with ext 3 as file system along with wiindows xp3.
I want to upgrade to 9.04, But when i run the update manager it is not showing any new distribution release and also i dont have the ubuntu 9.04 cd right now.
Please tell me how to upgrade and convert my filesystem into ext4.

Hey abhisheksreepal,

You can do this at any time.

Press "ALT+F2"

When the window shows up, type in "update-manager -d". That will open the update manager and will say upgrade to 9.04.

You can do the same thing in terminal, just open up terminal (normal or root) and type in "update-manager -d". This will do the same thing, it is just what you prefer.

Then that should do it.
