NVIDIA X Server alert!!??

NVIDIA X Server alert

This is not really a bug because if I had any knowledge of linux/ubuntu it would need no answer :)
Okay... I am running ubuntu 9.04 x86 64bit(New install) on an HP laptop. I has a (Slow!) NVIDIA GeForce 7150M
I run the install for the NVIDIA restricted driver (Version 180) and the first couple times it crashed, then it worked. When I open "Nvidia X Server Settings it gives me this message:
"You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server."

I dont really know what to do.
I tried "Sudo nvidia-xconfig" and it did not seem to work.
If anyone can show me what to do I will be grateful
--Thanks!

"It did not seem to work" isn't very helpful. For the record normally when a command returns 'nothing' that means it ran without error.

Did you restart X afterwards as instructed?

For Gnome:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart

For KDE:
sudo /etc/init.d/kdm restart

Can you try again and paste the entire command(s) (including your shell prompt) and the output from this?

Well, I just re-installed the driver, rebooted, and it works now, so I am going to say this is solved.

Sorry though about not including enough info.
I cant reproduce it so I cant tell ya.
Thanks for helping though!
