cannot uninstall ubuntu

Asked by underthehood51 on 2009-04-25

I have an HP notebook running Win XP and has 2 physical drives (c and d). I installed Ubuntu using WUBI (for the promise of easy uninstall) to my "d' drive. I now want to uninstall so I can do a clean install of either Ubuntu 9.04 or Kubuntu 9.04. When I try to invoke the uninstall feature there is no response. I tried it from Windows control panel, a 3rd party uninstaller, and from within the Ubuntu install directory. Every time the same result. Nothing happens.
Not sure how to proceed. DO I just delete the Ubuntu directory? If I do this will I still be able to boot to Windows? I would really like to do a clean install so it is necessary to uninstall.
Or can I use WUBI and install the version to my C drive and than remove everything on the D drive pertaining to the old installation?

Hi,

There is a good guide to help you out at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide#Uninstallation
try to follow the procedure and if something goes wrong then we'll see what to do.
