Ubuntu 19.10 on Lenovo Miix 520 Touchscreen Not Working

Asked by Tunghim Lam on 2019-11-26

Tried:

xinput --list
xsetwacom --list devices

No sign of the touchscreen.

I've done my research & tried reinstalling a fresh OS many times, no fruit.

I love Ubuntu & the touch interface, would like to see them working together again. Please help me bring my touchscreen back to life! Thank you so much in advance!

In that scenario, the touchscreen still worked & appeared in xinput & xsetwacom, just the multitouch gestures didn't work. And I'm the answerer. The problem is different this time.

For my case, the touchscreen doesn't work at all, not even a single touch.

Anyway, thanks for your try!

Do you have the latest BIOS?

Lenovo support site is saying that there is a BIOS update on 28 Nov 2019. Mine is 14 May 2018.

If update is needed to get my touchscreen back to work, how should I do it? I've googled it but not sure what those tutorials are doing.

I'm not sure, the manual will explain it. There will be a version online no doubt

There is only an .exe file for BIOS update from Lenovo. Thanks for guiding a way to update BIOS. I'll definitely try to solve the issue in this direction.

Can you help with this problem?
