Upgrade Issue to 9.04

Asked by Vikas Bhasin

Hello Freinds,

While upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04.

Should I go for the partial upgrade and then retry for the upgrade.
Got the following message.

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
The package 'gobuntu-desktop' is marked for removal but it is in the removal blacklist.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

Thanks ,

Vikas

Just open a terminal and tape : sudo apt-get install -f
if it doesn't solve your problem so you ahve to repeat the upgrade :

1. To upgrade from Ubuntu 8.10 “Intrepid Ibex”, press Alt+F2 and

2. Type in “update-manager -d” (without the quotes) into the command box.

3. Update Manager should open up and tell you: New distribution release ’9.04′ is available. Click Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks , RachedTN
