What is the difference between UBUNTU and EDUBUNTU and KUBUNTU?

There is very little difference, in the end. They can all be converted
to another one.

Ubuntu uses Gnome and Gnome/GTK applications as the default graphical
environment (the meta-package to install all of this is ubuntu-desktop)

Kubuntu uses KDE and KDE/QT applications by default (the package is
kubuntu-desktop)

Edubuntu is specifically designed for education. It uses (I believe) the
Gnome desktop, and has educational software installed by default.

A few others are Xubuntu (which uses XFCE) and Mythbuntu which is an
integrated MythTV PVR solution.
