realplayer plugin for firefox not working

Asked by achapp

I am using edgyeft on amd 64 architecture . I have installed real player10 . also the plugins for mozilla (nphelix.so,nphelix.xpt) is also thr . the link to these files is there in the installation folders of firefox32 and firefox64. Whenever i try to play music (using firefox 32)from the link http://www.musicindiaonline.com/music/malayalam/s/movie_name.8998/ , it first goes for checking system configuration . After that it will display the following players to select from 1) Real player 6 2)windows media player 6.4 . But whatever I selects the player doesnt works . When i selects real player a pop up window is displayed ERROR :method missing .

what can be the possible reason for this
why its displaying realplayer ver 6 when i had actually installed ver 10.0.8.805
also when i run "about:plugins "in the browser REAL player 9 is displayed and the file name is mplayerplug_in_rm.so .For windows media player plugin two sets are displayed
The first one is WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER PLUG-IN and the file name is mplayerplug_in_wmp.so
The second one is WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER PLUG-IN (COMPATIBLE ;TOTEM) and the file name is libtotem_gmp_plugin.so
what can be the possible reasons for displaying wrong versions of the players in the 'configuration check'
also why the plugins are not workin . realplayer is installed in /usr/lib/realplayer
how could i over ride the mplayer plugin from playing real media in firefox

Maybe there's just some problems with Real Player.. You might want to download and install MPlayer plugin. That's what I've been using for years and it never failed.

Can you help with this problem?
