Ross and Sharon; Hello -

I be that harbinger of ill news for you:
"Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) was the 20th release of Ubuntu. !End-of-life was April 25th, 2019. Paid support (ESM) is available."

You are strongly encouraged to upgrade to a current release, or do a fresh clean install (18.04).

To upgrade - a long hard road - will require fixing and fully updating the present system.

To that end resolve the non existent disk drives issue:
Post back:
cat /etc/fstab
sudo blkid

so we see what we are working with.

-all in the process-
