iwlwifi problem

Asked by brett hassall

I'm seeing a iwlwifi driver crash booting Eoan (kernel 5.3.0-18, Dell Precision 3510,pci 8086:24f3 ).

If I hide iwlwifi-8000C-36.ucode the system will boot normally with 8000C-34. Wifi seems to be working fine.

The same laptop is dual booted with bionic - no problems with 8000C-36.

Is this worth a bug report?

Yes, such problems should be reported as bugs.

There are already two bug reports that might be related to this problem, bug 1847921 and bug 1846264
Please check whether one of these is dealing with your problem. If not, you should create a new bug report.

Eoan is still prerelease. It is not ready and not stable. It probably won't be super stable until a few weeks after release.

Thanks for the replies.

1846264 seems to be a match. I've added a comment there.
