Unable to update Ubuntu 7.10

apt-get is not working in my system... and from synaptic package manager is also not wrking ... i am using ubuntu 7.10 please reply me.

Ubuntu 7.10 is at it's end of it's support life and no more updates will be produced. See:

Yup, in your update manager or perhaps in Synaptic Package Manager or something there should be an opportunity to upgrade to 8.04 (and then on to 8.10 and then 9.04). It's usually a grey button rather than being lost away in the packages list somewhere. I hope this helps!
