Is ADSL modem Thomson SpeedTouch 530 USB/ Ethernet supported

Asked by Rogier

I have an Adsl modem Thomson SpeedTouch 530 that can be connected either via USB or Ethernet. I cannot find any linux driver for this device. Why is it not supported ?
What adsl modem that comes with build in support in Urbuntu can replace my modem at lowest cost and effort?
Regards
Rogier

Hi,

Here is the answer to your question:

Connect the Speedtouch 530 to your network card via an ethernet cable. Avoid using the USB port on the router. No need to install extra software on Linux. It should support the Speedtouch 530 out of the box.
