When you switch on the machine are there lots of options for booting into Ubuntu?

For the Windows it might be good to defragment and do a "Disk Cleanup". So from the "Start" button

All Programs - Accessories - System Tools

but try to avoid having anything else running while you defragment your machine and run the "Drive Cleanup" separately too. First time you run either of these usually takes ages but 2nd or 3rd time you run them should be a lot faster.

Hope this helps!
Good luck and regards from

Brilliant, nicely fixed. :))))

Further improvements can often be gained by using the one month trial version of PerfectDisk but i am hoping that this sort of functionality gets added to gparted or something one day
http://www.perfectdisk.com/home
For some reason the Windows defragger can't defragment pagefile.sys and other crucial system files which PerfectDisk can do in "Offline" mode. Annoyingly perfectdisk is really good at detecting previous attempts to install it so i try to use it to defrag the hard-drives out of other machines too when i install it and try to install it onto the oldest drive first. I hope this helps!
