Laggy Bluetooth mouse

Asked by Baki László

Hey everyone!

I am new in Ubuntu, and I need some help! Mostly I can solve the issues by the help of Google, but this case is different. I have tried different ways to solve it, without successful. My laptop is a Lenovo Legion Y520, with an Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, and I have a mouse which is a HP Bluetooth Mouse Z5000. The problem is the mouse is working properly until it goes into suspend mode. After that it starts to work very laggy. Sometimes the issue goes away and sometimes it returns. I don't know what kind of information you need about my desktop, because I haven't been in the same situation before, so please just ask it. Thanks for your help in advance!

If the problem happens (only) after wakeup from suspend, then you might try reloading the driver after wakeup.
Find out the kernel module used by the mouse (or Bluetooth), unload it (with "modprobe -r drivername") and reload it ("modprobe drivername"). If this helps, then it is possible to automate it that it runs after each wakeup.

I've tried it with the "sudo modprobe -r btusb" and after that with the "sudo modprobe btusb" commands. I've found these. Is there a chance that my laptop has a built-in bluetooth and that's why it didn't work? After these commands nothing has changed. When I entered the second command, the mouse started to continue the lag. Anyway I never experienced an issue like this under Windows. So, I think the mouse is okay. When I start the Ubuntu, everything works properly, but after the first suspend of the mouse, it starts to lag.

Can you help with this problem?
