Thumbnails don't show up for Libre documents and PDF books. Autohide doesn't work for upper & lower panels.

I have Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS. (Reinstalled a couple of days ago to restore lost controls.)
Thumbnails work just fine for Video.
PDF thumbnails were OK yesterday and gone today. On BleachBit "Thumbnails" (and all "risky" stuff) are off. Installed two available "Thumbnailer" programs via Synaptic - didn't help.
"Autohide" doesn't work. Had to remove the upper panel and keep the lower one as it was.
Nothing was installed from the Internet. Updated daily. Any clues? Thank you.
