So you want to download the XP drivers for the system, or do you want to configure the hardware in Linux?

There is a difference. Can you please clarify.

Thanks.

This is an Ubuntu forum. Are you trying to make Xp work or Ubuntu?

zs, what hardware are you trying to make function?

You do NOT use XP drivers in Linux, XP drivers are for XP ONLY

If you tell us what piece of hardware yoou wish to get working in Ubuntu as well as the output of

lspci

we can advise. If you are downloading the drivers for XP to burn to CD then transfer to an XP system we can advise too (even if it is mildly offtopic)

Peace

Ubuntu includes a lot of drivers in the core kernel so most stuff should just work without needing extra drivers. Are you having troubles with some devices such as your monitor or anything?

Monitors do often have troubles and we often help people sort those problems out. If the trouble is with your monitor then please let us know what type of graphics card yoou have. Is it Intel, nVidia or ati, or something else?

Thanks and regards from
Tom :)

The computer has an audio amp, tv/fm tuner, and lcd case display. I would like to have them all working but only xp drivers are available.

Like we keep saying. The drivers for Linux are rarely provided by the manufacturer of the system. Instead, open source teams make the drivers.

Can you please provide the output of

lspci; lsusb

and we can advise how to set them up.

Err, try going up to the top taskbar and click on

Applications - Accessories - Terminal

and into the terminal window type

lspci

lsusb

Note that the first was a lower-case "LSPCI" and the second was a lower-case "LSUSB". Also knowing the manufacturers and perhaps model numbers might help too. Hope this helps!

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
