UBUNTU died due to mixedup syncs

Asked by J.H.Hermens

About a month ago , installing MATE desktop on UBUNTU running on a I386 wired desktop, was restricted to local lan, , and restricted to go on the internet. As a result, that machine did not receive any updates, just port 53 time syncs. The ubuntu raspberry-pi 2b running ubunto mate 18.02 also present on my lan did suffer just a week , where after internet came available..
My android tablet is restricted like the desktop..... windows10 laptop updated to the last microsoft update, but suddenly missing cyberlink 16 suite.... Telepfone going offline from its provider, getting local wifi, and randomly access to wifi.... windows home working normally on deesktop, but win10 profesional cannot be reached due to efi destroing grub.... what an internet!!!

Have you rebooted your router? Seems to be the common factor here. Leave it powered off for 10 mins then power back up and reboot your PC.

Does this help?

Multiple times.

Have partitioned the harddrive, and installed ubuntu-mate as primary boot.

This since all other ubuntu machines/partitions run this version.

Until recentently since last updates local wlan can not run stand-alone, due to mDNS missings.

this causes a printer on a wifi connection not reachable, now even with hardcoded address.

Sonic-pi on will not update to last version , pa missing,

The dead machine runs ...... wth fiefox, no mail, and just a play us appliction.

Can we do more than play?

Can you help with this problem?
