Hi,

Can you please try installing the issue using below command:

$ sh hplip-3.19.6-plugin.run

It should install plugin without any error.

Hello, I also tried with the 3.19.6 version and it did not work either, I get the same error message

Update :

I tried with the following versions :

- 3.19.8 : plugin does not install, error cited above
- 3.19.6 : plugin does not install, error cited above
- 3.18.4 : plugin installs successfully, but the printer is not detected when running hp-setup

... hopefully, this will resolve in future trials ...

It might be helpful to mention that I am an advanced developer, so I can use further guidance using the source code if it helps making my scanner work, I really need this to work

Eventually, what I did was :
- remove version 3.19.6, which I had installed
- remove the hplip package I had installed from Ubuntu repos
- re-installed version 3.17.11 and the corresponding plugin

And that worked for me.

By the way I am using HP Laser Jet m1536dnf MFP

And that's the solution. Thank you for your hints, this is now genuinely solved.

Best regards
