Having log in problems

I accidentally changed the home/ user from what it was to something else and now I cant log in what so ever. how can I change it back to the original home/****** without reinstalling the whole operating system? I have no CD drivr since Ubuntu is on a Dell Mini 9. Thanks.

Maybe you can select the "Recovery" option from GRUB and get a root shell from there?

Also, try creating a bootable USB memory and boot with that. See "System::Administration::USB Startup Disk Creator"

Hi martin, I started a new question for this problem with more information under Jill mini 9. I'm new to Ubuntu (it is my mini 9) and I'm lost with your suggestion. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Getting into Recovery Mode on a dell mini9 is tricky because it boots up very fast i think. I think that pressing the "Esc" key a few times during bootup mgiht let you into the boot-menu that has lots of Ubuntu options if you are lucky.

Somewhere there is an excellent help-guide all about mini 9's but i have completely lost it :(
