Kubuntu upgrade from Breezy to Dapper wants to remove KDE

Asked by wazyk

Hello,
I tried an upgrade from Kubuntu Breezy to Dapper via modifting my source-list file and apt-get update + dist-upgrade.
The problem is that apt wants to remove everything that is KDE. I found in various forums that it had happened to other people but no real solution.
So my question : is ther another way to do it (use the CD as source in my source-list file, for instance) ? Or is it normal because Kubuntu Dapper is not in its release state, and I sould wait until June and the problem will disapear ?
Thanks

Try this path:

apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
apt-get dist-upgrade

That will give k-d a higher priority so it will remain installed.
