Update 6.06 -> 7.04 = D-link DWL-120 stops working.

Asked by Antti K

I updated Ubuntu 6.06 to 7.04 from the automatic update service. The result was that I could not have wlan connection working with the D-link dwl-120 anymore. Any suggestions what might be the problem?

There have been countless reports of wireless faults in feisty, and fixes are being worked on. The best thing to do would be to search around the web for other people who have had similar 7.04 trouble with that wireless box, and see what happened to them, and how/if they fixed it

OK. Thanks for the answer. Did you really think about the content of it? Like I wanted to know that this might be a problem that is known to several people? If I need to make a point (in addition to one targeted to Sam), I think that this is a problem that should be avoided in order to make Linux one day the winning operating system... Or then you just don't update. But what is the point of making updates after this...
