Please could you explain this:- Other Locations - Windows Network – Connect to Server

What is Windows Network on Linux

How do I connect to Server – Have I got a Server ?

Where is it?

I do have a windows only Laptop connect via WiFi.

It means you can connect to Samba / CIFS shares in Windows. It doesn't mean you have a server. It just means you can connect to a file server if you have one available.

Thank you Andrew for your reply and making it clearer.

So is it possible to connect my Ubuntu PC (Ethernet) to my Windows laptop (WiFi) and if so how do I go about it - step by step would be very helpful.

If you want file access then share the folder in Windows and you can access it from Ubuntu.
