Incidentally, after issuing the last two commands (#3 and #5), there appeared a notice:
     Kdeinit5 closed unexpectedly.
This note is accompanied by the information that one cannot report this error because there is nobody to receive the report.
On the other hand, one does not perceive any immediate consequences of this 'unexpected close'. In particular, according to Task Manager, kdeinit5 keeps running.

Since nobody is taking up on the above, I am not sure whether this thread is closed now. Should I file a bug report?
