Upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04

Hi!

I'm trying to do this upgrade from the terminal. These are the steps that I performed:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo do-release-upgrade

After I do the last command the response I get is:
Checking for a new Ubuntu release
Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading.

Please, advise what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

For diagnostic purposes please provide the _full_ output that you receive when executing the commands

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo do-release-upgrade

This question is already obsolete. I performed a clean install instead of upgrading from 16.04.
