Nitroshare will launch on one PC but not the other; both running LinuxMint Tessa 19.1

Asked by ashley clive beeby

Hi,

I have two desktop PCs: both running LinuxMint Tessa 19.1; both connected to the internet by ethernet cable via the same router.

I will call them OLD(say 2010) and NEW (2019).

My objective is simply to be able to transfer directories/files one to the other.

I used Ubuntu Software Manager to install Nitroshare on both PCs. It succeeds on NEW - and stays launched; but when I launch on OLD it does not launch - or does not stay launched - just disappears. NEW can see the attempt by OLD to launch but any attempt to transfer a directory fails (no error message other than that transfer failed and that OLD has "left")

Any ideas please? Thanks.
